Capraia's island is part of Tuscan Archipelago and it hosts an ambitious 360-degree circular economy project every year. Last May 2019 Capraia held a unique event in the history of the island; for three days dozens of leading Bioeconomy experts gathered to identify all the possible initiatives to be undertaken in the field of the circular economy.

This workshop is aimed at heat users, technology providers, wood-fuel suppliers and other people who would like to find out more about the technical details and supports available through the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (SSRH) which has been opened by the Irish Government this week.

Representatives from local biomass producers, processors, relevant funding agencies and regional authorities exchanged knowledge and project ideas on bioeconomy at an ENABLING workshop in Sogndal on June 12th.

The workshop was dedicated to the further use of agricultural residues and the exploitation of residues from processing agricultural resources.

Partner Core Innovation co-organized and participated in Biomass Day 2019 that took place in Athens on 19 April 2019.

The workshop was mainly regarding new uses of farms’ wastes. It included meetings and discussions regarding cattle farmers’ needs. It had an emphasis on the environmental aspects of using residues from the farms and how it may change the economy of the farms.

The workshop took place within the “International fair of agriculture and animal husbandry” in Foggia (South Italy). The purpose of the workshop was to disseminate the Enabling project by implementing a synergy with the University of Foggia engaged in an H2020 project similar to our one called uP_running.

The workshop was directed on presenting new researchers that are being held in MIGAL, and new approaches to uses of Quinoa as a feed for animals and a source (the straw) for other bio-based products.

Wednesday the 24th of April, we were welcomed with open arms at both companies, Omegabaars (fish grower) and Tomato Masters (tomato grower), with a diverse group of Belgian growers and other stakeholders.

Within the framework of the 10th Specialized Exhibition and Conference on Waste Management and Recycling 'Save the Planet' held in the International Expo Centre Sofia 16 - 18.04.2019, the National Biomass Association (BGBIOM) organized the first seminar and workshop within the context of the ENABLING project, funded by Horizon 2020. The list of attendees included 69 representatives from related entities.

Partner Core Innovation co-organized and participated in Biomass Day 2019 under the title "Moving towards a bio-based economy in energy and environment: supply chains and innovation" that took place in Athens on 19 April 2019.

The workshop has been held in Sofia, Expo-centre in frames of the International Conference “Save the Planet”. The duration of Workshop has been three hours; from 11:00 to 14:00.

Sicily is a region of southern Italy where the economic crisis and climate change require immediate answers. In this context, the agricultural sector plays a central role in activating new forms of economy capable of enhancing the resources of the territory in full respect of the environment and the well-being of people.

The workshop was focused on vineyard and winery wastes. We have presented new researchers nd new ideas and technologies to deal with agricultural “wastes”.

The conference was directed on building and maintaining the relationship with stakeholders to develop a join vision on economic development of the agriculture, including uses of organic wastes and new approaches for bioeconomy.

The workshop was conducted by EEE in the premises of the Austrian chamber of commerce.

The workshop on the 2nd July 2019 at the John Innes Centre, Norwich, was organised in conjunction with the Enabling Project and Bioladies Network as one of the 4 Regional MML workshops of the Biovoices Project.

On October 30 the project ENABLING has been presented at the regional meeting of the participants in the SUWANU: Sustainable Water Treatment and Agricultural Reuse Options in Europe in the Hotel Imperial, Plovdiv.

The main aspect of the workshop was the use of agricultural wastes from the orchards. The Galilee is the main fruit barn of Israel and the accumulation of apple and decicious trees is a waste on the once hand and an environmental pollution on the other. The uses of fuit wastes was discussed and some ideas were presented.

In this workshop we have presented agricultural research, new technologies to implement and methodologies to farmers.

One of the topics was the amount of straw left after the wheat harvesting and its’ use almost entirely for feeding and bedding at cow shades. The use of quinoa straw, after harvesting the grains, sounded more interesting since it was examined in “precision livestock cells” that enabled examine each cow separately and balance the weight and food consumption. Quinoa straw showed higher digestibility than straw.

The workshop took place within EIMA International, the most important Italian fair of agricultural mechanization. In this fair the valorisation of biomass is a topic treated with great interest for the central role of mechanization in the supply chain of these resources.

The Workshop has been organized inside of Festival of Science placed in Fermo. The aim of the workshop was to introduce the ENABLING Project, with particular attention to the potentiality of most rural and agro-industrial wastes that could give to strengththe circular economy.
