The workshop was mainly regarding new uses of farms’ wastes. It included meetings and discussions regarding cattle farmers’ needs. It had an emphasis on the environmental aspects of using residues from the farms and how it may change the economy of the farms.
We invited farmers and representatives of the ministry of agriculture as well as ministry of environmental protection. It enabled farmers to raise question concerning the “circular economy” issues, and how it may affect their income from agriculture.
Cattle farmers need other uses of cattle sludge and residues. They need to integrate those approaches with environmental thinking. To do this, for example, the focus is on the nutritional nature of cattle for reducing greenhouse gases.
