The challenges of the circular economy to promote the development of the territory: the by-products of the agro-food sector

The workshop took place within the “International fair of agriculture and animal husbandry” in Foggia (South Italy). The purpose of the workshop was to disseminate the Enabling project by implementing a synergy with the University of Foggia engaged in an H2020 project similar to our one called uP_running.

On this occasion we invited numerous companies operating in the BBI to tell about their experiences. Some of these companies (Greenswitch, Foundry Alfe Chem and Greenevolution-Synbra Technology) have released video interviews that we intend to disseminate as a WP5 activity. The discussion was attended by Leonardo Di Gioia, the Councilor for Agriculture of the Apulia Region, who in the introductory speech subtended the importance of these projects in providing innovative ideas to the public administration.

We have made a useful networking activity by creating a link between the ENABLING Project and the uP_running project, both aimed at enhancing the residual agricultural biomass. Another important aspect was to obtain the participation of the Councilor for agricultural policies of the Puglia Region which verified the great interest of the public (mainly farmers and agronomists) in the know-how of the companies invited to tell their own experience in the BBI.
